about current events and politics in the USA.

Ohio is the most important swing state due to the Electoral College and the current polling numbers, so it's no wonder that Obama is touting the unemployment numbers in Ohio which are lower than the national average. When President Obama took office the unemployment rate in Ohio was 8.6% and it is currently 7% (the national average is 7.8%). The Republicans have been attacking Obama for high unemployment rates (pretty much during his entire Presidency) and so this causes a problem for them.

Liberals on the Internet have latched on to the "binders full of women" statement from Mitt Romney at the 2nd Presidential Debate... but I think most have missed the point. Even a bunch of the folks pointing out that liberals are missing the point... are often missing the point, in my opinion.

During the first Presidential debate Mitt Romney was asked what he would cut in the Federal budget. His response was that he'd cut Obamacare (which reduces the budget deficit) and he'd cut PBS and Big Bird. So, he'd increase the budget deficit by repealing Obamacare and he'd reduce the budget deficit by cutting funding to Big Bird. Let's look at those numbers.

The September Jobs Report is out and it is great news for Americans. Great growth in jobs numbers as well as previous months being revised upwards!

ZOMG! Here is an exerpt from one of those emails:

So, this is 'change you can believe in'?

The latest thing going around is a video of Mitt Romney from 1985 saying he wants to "harvest" companies.

We establish no religion in this country, we command no worship, we mandate no belief, nor will we ever. Church and state are, and must remain, separate. All are free to believe or not believe, all are free to practice a faith or not, and those who believe are free, and should be free, to speak of and act on their belief. -- Ronald Reagan

A friend of a friend posted this on Facebook and I asked permission to repost it here because I felt it hit exactly the right message and tone. Wish I could have said it this well myself:

This week has been a little crazy so I haven't had time to address The Great 47% Explosion

In case you haven't already been innundated with posts on Facebook about it, here is the craziness in a nutshell:
