Is Obama suing to restrict military voting?

I recently saw a friend post something on Facebook about Obama trying to take away the voting rights of members of the military. I often see statements which immediately trigger a response from me which is something like, "That can't be true..." and so I take a look.

For example, I recently ran into this when I saw someone post a quote meme photo that Mitt Romney's son, Alexander Romney, had answered a question about whether he would serve in the military by saying "Let the unemployed serve." I immediately thought, "That can't be true..." I may disagree with Romney's politics, but I know that he's a smart guy and so I assume that his sons which have had the benefit of his wealth must also be well educated and just can't possibly say something so amazingly stupid. So, did Alexander Romney say that? 

Alexander Romney did not say "Let the unemployed fight" and better yet DOESN'T EVEN EXIST. 

So, when I ran into this statement about Obama trying to strip away the voting rights of members of the military I had the same response. There's just no possible way that is happening. As much as you may hate Obama's policies, do you think he would be so stupid?

A group call the American Center for Law and Justice says that Obama has filed a lawsuit "against military voting rights" (link below).

Mitt Romney attacked Obama for undermining military voting rights:

President Obama’s lawsuit claiming it is unconstitutional for Ohio to allow servicemen and women extended early voting privileges during the state’s early voting period is an outrage. The brave men and women of our military make tremendous sacrifices to protect and defend our freedoms, and we should do everything we can to protect their fundamental right to vote. I stand with the fifteen military groups that are defending the rights of military voters, and if I’m entrusted to be the commander-in-chief, I’ll work to protect the voting rights of our military, not undermine them.

This is what is actually happening:

In 2005, Ohio changed their state voting rules to institute 3 days of Early Voting for all Ohio voters. In 2011, they changed those rules again to remove those 3 days of Early Voting... but only for non-military voters. If you are a member of the military, you still get access to Early Voting for 3 days. 

The DNC, the Ohio Democratic Party and Obama for America have filed suit in Ohio to REINSTATE access to those 3 days of Early Voting for ALL Ohioans based on the Equal Protection clause of the Constitution. In absolutely no way is Obama trying to strip the military from being able to vote Early in Ohio. Obama is trying to increase the availability of voting in Ohio by overturning the unfair law which restricted voting.

If you are upset that Obama is trying to strip away people's access to voting, what you should be upset about is that the Ohio GOP was trying to give one class of people more access to voting than another class of people.
